Pippa Middleton follow-up books set to be cancelled

THE entertaining guidebook penned by Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, is unlikely to be followed up by further volumes, it emerged today.

The book entitled, Celebrate, was widely panned by critics for its content however it understood the young socialite had been keen to impress with her second attempt.

The Mail reports today that is highly likely that two planned follow ups will not be published.

The next follow up book would have been on hosting a wedding on a shoestring budget while the third was reportedly to be on throwing children’s parties.

Her publisher, Michael Joseph - a division of Penguin, is set to back out of the deal due to a disagreement over publishing appearances.

‘Celebrate’ features recommendations for Halloween which include “Just a simply carved pumpkin,” while for New Year’s Eve, she suggests, “As the clock strikes midnight, link arms with friends and family and sing in the new year to ‘Auld Lang Syne.’ Pop corks and toast the year ahead.”

The sister of Kate Middleton, who is now married to Prince William, was reportedly paid £400,000 in advance for her first book which has sold only 2,189 copies.

It is understood that the fee - virtually unheard of for a first-time author - had been agreed on account of her royal connections.

However it is understood St James Palace vetoed a number of publicity appearances planned for the young socialite to promote ‘Celebrate’.
