Peace activists' damages claim

UP TO 120 peace activists are to claim damages after the High Court ruled they were unlawfully detained by police and forcibly escorted home as they tried to attend an anti-Iraq war demonstration at RAF Fairford, in Gloucestershire.

Two judges ruled that police had breached the protesters’ human rights.
