Motorist killed as fire engine attends crash

A MOTORIST has been killed after her car was in collision with a fire engine that was going to the scene of another fatal road accident.

The woman died in the head-on crash that happened half a mile from where a man was killed after his car struck a tree yesterday.

The fire engine was making its way to the first emergency when the second crash occurred, Dorset Police said.

The emergency services were first called at 7:50am after a vehicle left the A35 near Poole and collided with a tree.

Two people were injured in the second crash and were flown by air ambulance to hospital in Southampton.
