‘More e-mails leaked’ in climategate row
Thousands more e-mails from the university at the centre of the “climategate” row over global warming two years ago were apparently posted online yesterday.
Hacked e-mails from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) were leaked in 2009 ahead of UN talks in Copenhagen on tackling climate change.
Sceptics claimed the e-mails showed scientists had manipulated data to support a theory of man-made global warming, but a series of reviews later cleared researchers.
The apparent new release of 5,000 e-mails comes in the run-up to the latest round of UN climate talks, in South Africa.
