Man’s guilty plea to farmhouse burglary

A MAN has admitted a farmhouse burglary which led to the arrest of two homeowners after they opened fire on intruders.

Daniel Mansell, 33, from Leicester, entered a guilty plea at Loughborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday and will be sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on 25 September.

Andy and Tracey Ferrie were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm after a legally-owned shotgun was fired during a break-in at their home in Welby, Leicestershire, in the early hours of Sunday. They were bailed pending further inquiries on Tuesday.
