Man cuts off his own penis in public

A naked man stood on a wall in public and cut off his own penis, it has been reported.

Horrified onlookers saw the man take a kitchen knife to his own genitalia in Penryn, Cornwall.

Paramedics arrived to treat the man, who was bleeding heavilly, and took him to Royal Cornwall Hospital at Truro.

Witnesses say the man ran around screaming, but retreated into his home when the authorities arrived.

A neighbour, who had locked himself in when the drama unfolded, reportedly emerged to point out the genitals lying in a nearby garden to police.
