Light–aircraft pilot crashes into field

The pilot of a light aircraft is being treated in hospital after crashing in farmland, fire fighters said.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said fire crews from Glastonbury and Wells were called to the scene shortly after 4:30pm yesterday.

“On arrival, crews confirmed this was a two-seater light aircraft which had crashed into a field and had brought down surrounding power lines,” a brigade spokesman said.
