Life-saving message on life-jacket use

PEOPLE fail to wear life jackets because they underestimate the risk of falling into the water and the danger of cold water shock.

Research by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) found that many thought life jackets unnecessary. Launching a new campaign, the MCA said wearing a correctly fitted life jacket could double the chance of survival.
