Labour holds on to lead in the polls

LABOUR’S double-digit poll lead continued as the latest survey put it 10 points ahead of the Tories amid plummeting popularity ratings for the coalition’s leaders.

Research by Ipsos MORI put the opposition up by five points on 43 per cent and the Conservatives down by two at 33 per cent among those certain to vote – the widest gap between them for 15 months.

The Liberal Democrats lost three points, down to 9 per cent.

After a torrid two months for the power-sharing administration, dissatisfaction in the government soared to a record 67 per cent. That is the mark seen at the end of the last Labour administration.
