The Queen, the Queen Mother, the Princess Royal and Princess Michael of Kent agreed to sit for one of the world’s leading miniaturists, Russian artist Alexei Maximov, at Buckingham Palace and at Clarence House.

The collection will form the centrepiece of The Royal Portraits, an exhibition which can only be seen by appointment at The Ritz in London in March.

The collection will then be sold, with sealed bids for individual pieces or for the collection as a whole.
