Kate Winslet attends premiere of Titanic 3D

TITANIC star Kate Winslet last night signed autographs and embraced her director James Cameron and co-star Billy Zane at the re-launch of the 3D version of the film that made her a star.

Winslet, who won a Best Actress Oscar in 2009 for The Reader, played sensitive socialite Rose DeWitt Bukater alongside Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jack Dawson in the epic drama.

The couple’s doomed love affair on board the ill-fated boat has been converted into 3D 15 years after the film was originally released, which pulled in billions at the box office and won a total of 11 Oscars.

More than 1,000 people died when the Belfast-built Titanic sank after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage in 1912.
