Jury shown CCTV footage of armed woman's shooting

AN INQUEST jury was shown CCTV footage of the moment an armed woman was shot dead by a police marksman in the middle of a market town.

Ann Sanderson, 37, died from a single gunshot wound to the chest after being fired at by an officer in Sevenoaks, Kent, on 11 June, 2007.

The Gravesend inquest yesterday heard Ms Sanderson was known to local police for a number of offences, including arson, criminal damage, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and the use and supply of drugs, including cannabis.

Jurors heard that when Ms Sanderson, had been arrested four years previously for arson, officers found a diary in her home which said she wanted to kill a policeman.

Throughout the film, jurors heard the corresponding recordings of a police phone conversation with council worker Patricia Parselle who was monitoring the CCTV that night following her initial call at 1:20am.

She is heard to say: "The thing is with Ann, I've watched her for years, I've never seen her like this."
