I won’t give up, vows Tomlinson’s husband

THE husband of cancer campaigner Jane Tomlinson yesterday said “giving up is not an option”, despite being injured at the start of a gruelling challenge to mark ten years since his wife first ran the London Marathon.

Mike Tomlinson, 51, of Rothwell, West Yorkshire, and daughter Rebecca, 23, of Tooting, south London, ran yesterday’s Paris Marathon.

That challenge comes before a bike ride to London, during which they will cycle 100 miles a day for six days – before running the London Marathon.

Mr Tomlinson said he was unsure whether he could complete the challenge as he was carrying a thigh injury: “I don’t know, if I’m honest. Giving up is not an option at this stage. I’ll just get on my bike tomorrow and see how it goes.”
