On holiday - but still hard at work

Nearly one in four Britons on holiday this week will keep working while they are away, a study has shown.

Of the six million jetting off for the Bank Holiday and English half term, 38 per cent say they will have to keep on top of work while off.

This will see them spending about two and a half hours sending e-mails, making phone calls and studying documents, with one in ten working nine hours extra. But there is good news – their industry will generate £42.8 million for the economy, according to the survey by travel search site Skyscanner.
