Historic Cambridge bonds issue planned

CAMBRIDGE University is looking at issuing bonds for the first time in its history. The prestigious 800-year-old institution is said to be considering turning to the money markets to raise up to £400 million to finance two new building projects.

The university has been in talks with various banks, and the bond issue is likely to go ahead in six to 12 months' time.
