Hairdresser registerplan cut short

MPs yesterday blocked plans for a state register of hairdressers to protect customers from rogue crimpers.

Tory David Morris, a former stylist, wanted hairdressers licensed so they could only cut, blow, dry and dye if they reached minimum standards.
