Tens of thousands of music fans were left disappointed after the £225 tickets were snapped up in just 26 minutes.

Emily Eavis, the daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and co-organiser of the festival, tweeted: “We have sold out, thank you to everyone for supporting us and I’m sorry to those of you who have missed out.”

See Tickets, the company selling the coveted passes, said: “Tickets sold out in record time - sorry to everyone who didn’t get tickets.

“Small amount will be available next year in the resale.”

The 150,000 tickets were bought up even before the festival line-up has been announced, but there are rumours Fleetwood Mac and Queen could headline next year.
