Flo Rida knocks Coldplay off the No 1 singles spot

Flo Rida has knocked Coldplay off the top of the charts with his single Good Feeling.

The American star soared to the top of the singles chart, sending Coldplay, who had secured the first No 1 spot of 2012 with Paradise, down to No 2, the Official Charts Company said.

Her return to the top of the album charts makes 21 the longest chart-topping album release in nearly 42 years, the Official Charts Company said.

In December, it was named as the best-selling album of the 21st century, having accumulated a massive 3.81 million sales and now it is spending its 19th non-consecutive week at No 1 since its release just under a year ago.

The record holder is Simon and Garfunkel’s 1970 classic Bridge Over Troubled Water, which has amassed 33 non-consecutive weeks in the top spot since its release.
