Flight plans in chaos after airports close

AIR travellers faced disruption as heavy snow forced many English airports to close.

Gatwick, Luton, Southampton and Birmingham were shut, while Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds Bradford closed temporarily. Staff worked through the night to re-open Southampton this morning.
