Andrew Jarvis, managing director of First Bus in Scotland, told BBC Radio Scotland's Good Morning Scotland programme the proportion would depend on the number of seats and the configuration of passengers.

Asked how he thinks the current situation will work out for the company, he said: "It is a very tricky one to estimate at the moment.

"Probably something like getting back to 80-85% of where we were before the pandemic is probably likely, but that is going to take some time.

First Bus has said the capacity of buses may be reduced amid coronavirus.

"I'd say that is probably going to take us almost a year, depending how things develop," he added.
