The Jubilee celebrations will be shown live over the holiday weekend on a BBC big screen in Edinburgh’s Festival Square.

The highlight of the celebrations will be on Monday evening where viewers can experience the Diamond Jubilee Concert as it happens live from in front of Buckingham Palace.

New children’s book tells palace story

A children’s book about the Queen’s official residence in Scotland has been produced to mark her Diamond Jubilee.

The illustrated work tells the 500-year history of the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

The £3.95 book, called Kings, Queens And A Scottish Lion, by Leah Kharibian, goes on sale at the Palace of Holyroodhouse shop and online today.

Rare pictures of the princess emerge

RARE photographs of a young Princess Elizabeth meeting a Scottish ex-pat family while on a visit to South Africa have emerged.
