Court date for PC accused of abuse

The Met officer accused of racially abusing a suspect during last year’s riots will appear in court next month.

The police watchdog served a summons on PC Alex MacFarlane after being told by prosecutors to charge him with a public order offence.

The Crown Prosecution Service reviewed footage of the alleged incident.
