City traders chew the fat with duchess

CITY traders in fancy dress swapped tips with the Duchess of Cornwall yesterday at a charity event which will raise millions for charities including Maggie’s Centres.

Brokers raised money for more than 200 charities during the ICAP annual global charity day in the City of London.

The duchess is president of Maggie’s Centres, a charity founded in Scotland which provides help and support for people suffering from cancer at specially built centres at hospitals around the UK. The Scotsman’s Christmas Appeal this year is supporting the work they do.

As part of her visit to the trading floor, the duchess ceremonially closed a £5 billion interest rate swap. Lewis Hamilton and Rod Stewar also attended the event, which is one of many charity events the duchess is supporting in the run up to Christmas.
