Building industry agrees to talks

Hopes of an end to a long-running dispute over pay and conditions in the construction industry rose yesterday after an agreement to hold fresh talks.

Unite said it will not pursue further industrial action talks can now take place on modernisation. The announcement follows the failure of a legal challenge by Balfour Beatty against a strike.
