Britons can’t get enough overtime

The average British worker now puts in more than three weeks of overtime a year by answering calls and e-mails at home, a study has revealed.

Researchers found nine out of ten people continue working when they have left the office, typically for a total of three hours and 31 minutes each week.

The study of 1,000 UK workers, which was carried out by mobile security software company Good Technology, also found 66 per cent of those surveyed said they checked their work e-mail messages before 7am.
