Bradshaw jumps to Met Office's defence

THE Met Office has been defended against criticism over the accuracy of its forecasts, after it predicted a "mild" winter ahead of the biggest freeze in 30 years.

Culture Secretary Ben Bradshaw told MPs it was "probably the best… and most respected meteorological office anywhere in the world".
