Wiggins is being strongly tipped for the BBC’s Sports Personality Of The Year award after his groundbreaking Tour de France win and his track cycling gold during London 2012.

He is also lined up to present BBC2’s music quiz Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Head of programmes for 6 Music, James Stirling, said: “It’s fantastic that two men who have excelled in their chosen fields can share their love of music on BBC Radio 6 Music.”
