Bonhams to sell historic Grand Prix racing car

BONHAMS have unveiled a historic Grand Prix racing car that will be up for auction on Friday 12th July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The motor, a 1954 2½-litre straight-8 Mercedes-Benz W196, was unveiled this evening at Bonham’s New Bond Street saleroom.

Five-times World Champion Driver Juan Manuel Fangio won both the 1954 German and Swiss Grand Prix in the historic vehicle.

It is reported to be the most important Grand Prix racing car ever to have been entered into public auction.
