BBC says sorry over Jeremy Clarkson comment on public sector strikes

THE BBC has issued an apology after Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson said public sector workers should be executed in front of their families.

Clarkson, 51, who earns about £1m for his BBC2 show made his remarks during an appearance on The One Show last night.

Asked what he would do with the strikers, Clarkson replied: “I would have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.

“I mean how dare they go on strike when they have these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed, while the rest of us have to work for a living?”
