Bank tax would pay for Tory marriage pledge

THE Tories would use £550 million raised from a new bank tax to give married couples an income tax break worth up to £150 a year, party officials said.

Basic rate taxpayers would be allowed to transfer 750 of their personal allowance to a spouse.
