Afghan soldier dies in road accident

A SOLDIER on leave before a tour to Afghanistan was killed in a road accident on Christmas Day.

Edward Heal, 19, a trooper in the King’s Royal Hussars, died after being struck by a car in Somerset in the early hours.

His mother, Elaine Coles, 50, said: “I can’t believe it. His Christmas presents are still there by the Christmas tree.”
