Afghan explosion victim named

A BRITISH bomb disposal expert who died after being injured in an explosion in Afghanistan on the eve of his 21st birthday has been named.

Sapper Connor Ray, from Newport, South Wales, died in hospital in Birmingham yesterday from wounds sustained during a search and clearance operation in the Nad-e Ali district of central Helmand on 11 April.
