Aberdeen is just the job opportunities

HUGE variations in job prospects across the UK have been revealed in a new study, but statistic show that Aberdeen is now the easiest place to find work.

The Granite city has overtaken Cambridge as the best place to find a job, with more vacancies than jobseekers, buoyed by the oil and gas industry.

Southern English cities dominate the rest of the jobs “hotspot” list, suggesting a continuing North/South divide, said job-search website Adzuna.

Hull is the hardest city in which to find work, with 80 applicants per vacancy, followed by Stoke-on-Trent, Southend, the Wirral and Motherwell, according to the report.

London is said to be “awash” with demand for secretaries and estate agents, while Belfast tops the list for call centre staff.
