4x4 interest accelerates

THE wintry weather has led to a surge in the number of drivers wanting off-road 4x4 vehicles, it was revealed today. As many as 18 per cent of motorists are looking to buy a 4x4 this year.

In contrast, just five per cent hope to purchase a small car, such as an Audi TT, a Mini or a Ford Ka, according to website Compucars.
