UK News: Strollers thefts soar in £60m black market

Thefts of strollers have almost doubled in a year, with the black market worth around £60 million, according to Halifax Home Insurance.

Sales of buggies costing more than 500 have increased by 40 per cent, with parents unwittingly fuelling the black market through second-hand purchases.

Plan to close six prisons

Policemen injured in blast

Two policemen were injured after an explosive was hurled at them in Belfast.

The device exploded on the ground at Shaw's Road last night and flying debris hit them.

The officers, who were investigating a robbery at a bookmakers, were taken to hospital.

One sustained serious arm injuries, but they were not thought to be life-threatening.
