Two men arrested over murder of Robbie Morrison

TWO men have been arrested and charged over the murder of former soldier Robbie Morrison.

Robbie, 31, a former guardsman with the 1st Battalion Scots Guards, was stabbed in Dumbryden Gardens, Wester Hailes, at around 4.30pm on Friday, August 22.

He received hospital treatment at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but died in hospital three days later after succumbing to his injuries.

Police Scotland today said that following extensive enquiries by the Major Investigation Team over the past three weeks, officers had this morning secured arrest warrants for a 37-year-old man and a 46-year-old man.

The pair are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Cunningham said: “Following the tragic death of Robbie Morrison the major investigation has made significant progress and today resulted in the arrests of two males.

“We have been supported by the local community and will be continuing our investigations in the Wester Hailes area of Edinburgh.
