Two men needed hospital treatment after a “terrifying” attack by three men who entered their house.

The pair, aged 27 and 30, had just returned home in the early hours of yesterday morning with takings from their business when three men armed with bladed weapons came in and threatened and attacked them.

The trio robbed them of a four-figure sum of money before running off.

Detectives believe it was a targeted attack.

The 30-year-old man sustained injuries to his head, body and arm and was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

The 27-year-old was treated for minor injuries at the hospital and released.

Strathclyde Police appealed for information about the incident, which happened at around 12:15am in Greenoakhill Crescent in the Baillieston area of Glasgow.

Detective Inspector Laura Thomson said: “It was a terrifying attack on the men, one of whom is still in hospital.

“I believe that it was a targeted attack as the two men had just returned with takings from their local business.”
