Two hurt in gang attack at nightclub

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two teenagers were seriously assaulted outside a nightclub in West Lothian.

The incident happened around 3.15am on Saturday, 12 June, in the Livery/Waverley Street area of Bathgate.

An 18-year-old man was outside the Twig Nightclub when he became involved in a dispute with a group of men, who then began punching and kicking him to the ground. An 18-year-old woman attempted to assist the injured man, when she was assaulted by a female believed to have been with the group of men.

The female suspect began striking her victim to the face with a stiletto heel.

Both victims were taken to St John's Hospital, where the man was treated for a fractured jaw and leg. The woman required stitches for a cut to her face.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

A police spokesman said: "This has been a vicious and violent assault that has unfortunately resulted in two people requiring hospital treatment for their injuries."
