Two Highland sporting estates open to offers

TWO Highland sporting estates are up for sale with a combined price tag of more than £5 million.

Tournaig Estate in Wester Ross is on the market for 2.5m, while the nearby Heights of Kinlochewe is on offer for 2.6m.

Heights of Kinlochewe, above Loch Maree, includes a deer forest and salmon and sea trout fishing.

Tournaig includes a farm, deer stalking and trout fishing on a number of hill lochs. It centres around Tournaig House, which is set in woodland gardens designed by Osgood Mackenzie, the third son of Sir Francis Mackenzie, the laird of Gairloch, famous for creating the Inverewe Gardens in the late 19th century.

John Bound, of selling agent CKD Galbraith, said: "We have experienced healthy demand for Highland estates this year from both domestic and foreign parties.

"Given the wealth of sport on offer, each estate is highly desirable and sure to attract a lot of interest from those eager to become the laird of an outstanding Highland landholding."
