The runs will take place at Inverleith Park and the Royal Botanic Garden.

Events in the jogscotland 5k Challenges series have already taken place in Aberdeen and Inverness, although Edinburgh is the only city where two 5km races will be held.

Nigel Holl, chief executive of Scottish Athletics, said: “There’s no better way to spend a midweek evening in June than taking part in one of the 5k Challenges.

“There are still opportunities for runners of all standards to sign up for the 5k Challenge. Jogscotland has been a massive success over the past few years, spreading the word about running and all the health benefits it can bring.”
