Tributes paid to grandmother as police arrest man in connection with ‘suspicious’ death

A GRIEVING family have paid tribute to a “kind and loving” grandmother after Grampian Police confirmed that a 55-year-old man had been arrested in connection with her “suspicious” death.

The body of 41-year-old Kim Campbell was found at her home in High School View in the New Elgin area of Moray’s main town in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Ms Campbell, who was originally from the Lossiemouth area of Moray, had four children and two grandchildren.

In a statement, released by Grampian Police, a family spokesperson said: “Kim was a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Her sudden loss has left a huge hole in our lives that we will never be able to fill. “

The statement continued: “Kim was born, brought up, and went to school in Lossiemouth. About ten years ago she moved to the Elgin area.

“Kim was a genuine, kind and loving woman who loved her family and friends and was well-liked in the local community. She always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help friends and family.”

The statement added: “She left us far too soon, however, we as a family have been left with many happy memories.

“The messages of support we have received from family and friends have been very comforting and we’d like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts at this very difficult time.”

A spokesman for Grampian Police announced late on Thursday night: “Grampian Police can confirm that a 55 year-old man has been arrested in connection with the suspicious death of a 41 year-old woman in the Elgin area earlier today . A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
