Tributes flood in for tragic model Michelle

TRIBUTES have been pouring in for the daughter of Rangers veteran Willie Henderson after she died at the age of 28
following a long battle with cervical cancer.

Michelle Henderson, a former athlete and model who had an honours degree in journalism from Napier University, was diagnosed with the disease two years ago and died on Monday.

A trust set up in her name has raised thousands of pounds through events including football matches and zumbathons.

Kathleen Griffin, whose husband Denis is in the Indonesian jungle ahead of a longer expedition next year to raise funds for the trust, told the Evening News: “Denis admired Michelle for the way she fought her cancer so hard and the support she gave to others raising awareness for the trust.

“She always looked amazing and gave her time freely to talk to anyone who wanted to talk to her, even though on many of these nights she was in a great deal of pain.

“Denis and Michelle also had a very similar vision on how they would like the Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust to move forward.

“I know that Denis will do all he can to ensure that Michelle’s ideas and wishes become a reality.”
