Tribute to Olympic star lands in city

A LIFE-SIZED sculpture of triple jump world record-holder Jonathan Edwards has arrived in the Capital ahead of the Olympics.

The sculpture, by Ptolemy Elrington, immortalising Edwards when he paraded a Union flag after winning gold at the Sydney 2000 Games, is made of used train parts, including brake pads, springs and seat frames.

Weighing 770lb, the sculpture, which took two weeks to build, was unveiled on Calton Hill yesterday.
