Trapped bike boy rescued by fire engines

FIREFIGHTERS came to the rescue of an eight-year-old boy whose legs became stuck in his bike.

Two fire engines attended the incident at Elizabeth Lane in Bathgate at shortly after 3pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said that “small tools” were used to release the boy from the bicycle.

An ambulance also attended the scene. The child was checked over by paramedics and they decided he did not need to be taken to hospital.
