Woman dies in bus crash

A WOMAN died yesterday after her car was involved in an accident with a double decker bus.

The 47-year-old was driving her Ford Scorpio along Leven Road in Kennoway, Fife, when it was in collision with the Stagecoach service bus just after 11:30am.

Fife Constabulary said “sadly, she woman died at the scene”.

The bus driver was taken to hospital, while the three passengers on the bus were treated for minor injuries at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service personnel.

Police said they were launching an investigation into exactly what happened.

A source said that allthough it was windy at the time of the incident, the accident did not appear to be weather-related. Both car and bus were written off in the crash. The woman will not be named until next of kin have been informed.
