Woman, 85, dies after being hit by a car as she crossed road

An elderly woman has died after being hit by a car as she crossed the road.

Elizabeth Dunnion, 85, was struck on Bridge of Weir Road in Linwood, Renfrewshire, on Saturday.

She was taken to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital with a serious head injury and died the following day.

The 27-year-old driver of the black Mazda 3 was not hurt in the crash near Hart Street at around 5.10pm.

Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information should contact officers on 101, quoting incident number 3058 of October 6.
