On track for rail disruption

RAIL passengers face disruption on two of Scotland’s busiest Scottish routes during upgrading work after Christmas.

Trains on the main line between Edinburgh and Glasgow will be cut to half-hourly on 27 December, while sets of points are replaced beside Princes Street Gardens in the capital. Other services may also be affected.

Work on the main Glasgow-Paisley line, including the transfer of signalling to a new centre in Glasgow, will also hit passengers on the west coast.

Buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central and Johnstone and Port Glasgow from 27 December until around 9am on 30 December.
