Six rescued from blazing fishing boat

THE crew of a blazing fishing boat were airlifted to safety last night off Shetland.

The six fishermen on board the Banff-registered trawler Denarius were rescued by the Sumburgh-based Coastguard rescue helicopter after reporting that their vessel was on fire 60 miles south east of Sumburgh. A Coastguard spokesman said the crewmen were safe and well.
