Six injured in Glasgow city centre crash

The accident happened shortly before 11.30pm on Wednesday night in the city’s Argyle Street, near the Marriott Hotel.

Five of the injured were travelling in the car, with three having to be cut free by firefighters. The five car passengers and the driver of the lorry were taken to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police confirmed that one man had suffered a severe head injury, whilst others had sustained back and leg injuries. One man was treated for shock.

The street was closed while police officers investigated the incident, with a diversion being put in place for drivers leaving the eastbound M8 motorway at junction 19
