KLM will run an additional flight from Edinburgh to the Dutch capital, meaning passengers can choose from six flights a day.

It will also add another service from Glasgow, taking it to five daily flights.

Air France has increased the frequency of its flights between Edinburgh and Paris with one additional flight, reaching a total of four daily.

Henri Hourcade, general manager, said: “Air France KLM has brought worldwide connectivity to Scotland since 1946 when the first KLM aircraft landed.

“These additional frequencies will give travellers even greater flexibility and choice of medium and long-haul destinations, as well as helping to improve the standing of the Scottish regions on the world stage.”
